About the BMW i8 1:24
The i8 was BMW's glimpse of the future in 2014: a three-cylinder engine and an electric motor in a carbon body with doors that swing up like a Lamborghini's. The model has the layered rear with the floating buttresses over the tail lights, the blue accents in the kidney grille and the side sills, and the flush-fitting lamps.
The doors are butterfly-hinged and open up and out. The front and rear covers lift. Headlights and an engine sound work from a button, and the rear axle carries a pull-back motor. It is produced in white, blue and red, the white with the blue accents being the launch look.
It is a good shelf companion to the M4 and the XM as the BMW that looked forward, and it suits someone who likes the unusual.
Living with a 1:24 scale model
