About the Volkswagen Type 2 Camper Van 1:24
The Type 2 is the Beetle turned into a box, and the split-windscreen version from 1950 to 1967 is the shape everyone means by VW camper. The model is that early bus with the two-piece windscreen, the V-shaped front with the large VW roundel, and the two-tone paint split at the swage line.
The front doors and the side loading doors open, and the rear engine lid lifts over the air-cooled flat-four. Opening a door brings up the lights and an engine sound. The interior has the folding bench and the camper cabinets modelled along one side. The rear axle carries a pull-back motor. The body is metal with the roof and bumpers in a contrasting colour.
It is a gift model above all, for anyone with a surfing, camping or Beatles phase, and it sits well beside the Beetle in the same scale.
