About the VW Polo Rally
A Polo in rally colours is a shape you see at every rallycross event, and this shell is that car in blue with the numbers and sponsor-style graphics printed on. It is a compact drift car, smaller than the 1:16s, which makes it the right size for a flat where floor space is limited, and its 4WD chassis slides predictably on tile or wood.
The 2.4 GHz radio pairs to its own car, so two or three Polos can race in the same room, and it drives forward, backward, left and right with proportional control. LED lights are wired into the shell. The battery charges over USB; the controller takes AA cells, not included. A set of cones and spare drift tyres come in the box.
It suits a younger driver or anyone who wants a car for a small room. The orange-and-blue Gulf-style Polo is the same car in a different livery.
Living with a RC car
This is a remote control car first and a model second: the body is plastic to keep weight down and the chassis carries the battery and steering servo. It charges over USB and runs for 20 to 30 minutes per charge.
