About the Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno 1:24
The AE86 is a 1980s Corolla coupe with rear-wheel drive and 130 hp that became a legend twice: first with drifters in Japan, then with everyone who read or watched Initial D, where Takumi delivers tofu in one. This model is the Trueno, the version with pop-up headlamps, in the white-over-black scheme with the Fujiwara Tofu Shop-style plain doors.
The doors and boot open, and opening a door triggers the lights and an engine sample. The pop-up lamps are modelled in their closed position with the lenses still illuminating through. The rear axle carries a pull-back motor. The body is metal and the proportions are the AE86's own: short, boxy, high on its narrow tyres.
It is the small car on the JDM shelf and the one that gets the most knowing nods. It pairs with the R34 and the Supra in the same scale.
Living with a 1:24 scale model
