About the Land Rover Defender 110 1:18
The Defender that replaced the original in 2020 is this one, and the shape that has sold more diecast models in India than any other car we stock. The 1:18 is the licensed version: built from Land Rover's data, so the roof is the right height, the rear overhang is the right length and the Alpine windows in the roof edge are moulded rather than printed. It carries the roof rack and side ladder as separate parts.
The rear door is side-hinged with the full-size spare wheel mounted on it, and it opens onto a load bay with the tie-down rails modelled. Four doors open onto the Defender's exposed-structure dashboard with the grab handle across the passenger side. The bonnet lifts, the front wheels steer, and the button under the chassis brings up the headlamps, tail lights and an engine sample. Wheels are the 20-inch five-spoke design with all-terrain tyres.
If the 1:24 Defender is the one for a desk, this is the one for a shelf. It is close to a kilogram and it ships double-boxed with the ladder and rack protected.
Living with a 1:18 scale model
At 1:18 this is a large model, roughly a ruler's length, and it is built as a display piece rather than a toy. Expect metal body panels with proper hinges, a carpeted or textured floor inside, and a finished engine bay under the bonnet. Give it about 30 cm of shelf width and lift it by the roof or chassis, not the bumpers.
