About the Bentley Mulsanne 1:18
The Mulsanne went out of production in 2020 and took the 6.75-litre V8 with it, an engine Bentley had built in one form or another since 1959. This model marks the end of that line. It is the largest Bentley we sell and one of the longest cars in the catalogue, and the length is the point: a Mulsanne is 5.6 metres of car, and at 1:18 it still needs a shelf to itself.
The grille is the vertical-slat matrix with the flying B above it as a separate part. Four doors open; the rear ones reveal picnic tables folded into the front seat backs and a centre armrest, all picked out in a two-tone leather colour. Under the bonnet the V8 sits with its twin turbos and the Bentley script on the cam covers. The wheels are the 21-inch multi-spoke design and the front pair steer.
It suits someone who appreciates a saloon over a supercar, and it pairs with the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII in the same scale for the two ends of the British luxury shelf.
Living with a 1:18 scale model
At 1:18 this is a large model, roughly a ruler's length, and it is built as a display piece rather than a toy. Expect metal body panels with proper hinges, a carpeted or textured floor inside, and a finished engine bay under the bonnet. Give it about 30 cm of shelf width and lift it by the roof or chassis, not the bumpers.
