About the Audi A7 Sportback 1:18
The A7 is Audi's answer to the question of what a saloon looks like when you give it a fastback roof and a hatch, and the second-generation car of 2018 added the rear light bar that runs the full width of the tail. On the model that bar is one continuous clear red part, and it is the detail that identifies the car from behind at any distance.
The single-frame grille is a fitted honeycomb insert rather than a print, with the four rings as a separate chrome part. The frameless doors open onto a cabin with the twin-screen MMI console modelled and the seats in a lighter tone. The bonnet lifts over the V6. Wheels are the 20-inch five-arm design and the front pair steer. Paint on the batch photographed is a nardo-style grey.
It suits an Audi driver, or anyone who wants a saloon-shaped model that is not a Mercedes. The Q8 in 1:24 is its SUV companion.
Living with a 1:18 scale model
At 1:18 this is a large model, roughly a ruler's length, and it is built as a display piece rather than a toy. Expect metal body panels with proper hinges, a carpeted or textured floor inside, and a finished engine bay under the bonnet.
